Reed Finance is working exclusively with an organisation based in Glasgow to recruit a Head of Finance position. The position has opened due to an internal move and reports directly to the CFO. You will work closely with the CFO and senior management to contribute to the overall success of the business.
The role will act as a bridge between the CFO and the day to day running of the finance department, working closely with the CFO on strategic finance responsibilities but still having a focus on month end responsibilities. The role has 5 direct reports and you will delegate work accordingly to ensure tight month end deadlines are met. Our client is searching for candidates with strong practice backgrounds ideally for a mid-tier or big 4 firm with over 5 years post qualification experience. Our client is open to candidates who are making their first move from practice or who have since moved on to industry.
The main responsibilities the position entails are:
- Directly manage a team of accountants
- Full responsibility for the month end process, delegating duties to your team
- Provide business partnering support to key stakeholders
- Analyse monthly financial results to assess trends
- Work closely with the CFO and senior management, assisting with the future strategy of the business
- Develop systems and procedures to ensure a robust and fit-for-purpose control environment
To be considered for the role, you must possess the following:
- A fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS)
- Previous direct manage experience
- Over 5 years PQ experience
- Ideally a strong practice background in either a mid-tier or big 4 firm
- A strong communicator who can provide support to key stakeholders
- Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines
In return, our client is offering a generous basic salary with a 20% bonus. Due to future plans, there will be scope to progress to the CFO position.
