Salter Grange has partnered with a highly respected Main Contractor who has received numerous accolades in the industry. They are currently in search of aMechanical Estimatorto join their team and contribute to a variety of exciting projects, including Data Centres, as well as commercial and industrial ventures.


In this role as aMechanical Estimator,you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of experts and report directly to the commercial manager and esteemed line Directors. You will find yourself immersed in a dynamic and stimulating environment that nurtures professional growth and encourages creativity.


Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities:
  • Document Control: Tender Document Control for each bid. Analyse drawings, specifications, tender addenda and all other documentation to ascertain what work elements need to be measured and priced for inclusion in the BoQ.
  • Pricing: Obtain quotation from the local market from vendors or subcontractors. Interrogating these quotations for scope gaps and variances and inputting correct figures into the bid.
  • Liaise with construction team to obtain rates reflecting actual costs, and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Change Management: Keep up to date with all tender addenda issued both pre-tender and post tender and analyse all for change. Schedule these changes and apply rates for updated / revised tender bid submissions


Mechanical Estimator Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
  • 1-2 years' experience in Quantity Surveying/Estimating role
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
