Salary: £30,576

Guaranteed Annual Bonus: OTE up to £4,190

Hours: Monday - Friday (7:00am - 4:00pm) Plus every Second Saturday (8:00am - 12:00pm) 

Job Summary 

My client is looking for a practical, pro-active, hands-on Manager who will be responsible for thier Warehouse, purchases and associated services.  The warehouse has a huge array metal, different shapes and sizes, which is well-stocked and regularly replenished. You will work with your team and the service providers to ensure that customer’s orders are prepared and packaged ready for collection or delivery fast and in-time.

You will need to run the warehouse efficiently and effectively and cover the Store Manager’s absence assisting with sales and the Trade Counter when required.  This position provides the opportunity for someone to develop their skills in managing operations with a key focus on the warehouse, delivery service, purchasing and stock control and being a key holder.  You will learn about metal, how to buy it, sell it, warehouse it, move it and process it!

Main responsibilities include:

  • Staff management and training.
  • Manage the Store Trucks, route planning, using tracker software, monitoring delivery performance
  • Manage store stocks in line with our procedures including purchasing, discrepancy investigations, etc
  • Manage the cutting and processing machinery, equipment and maintenance/servicing thereof
  • Manage forklift and lifting equipment - maintenance/servicing and training
  • First Aider for the store attending a first aid course as required
  • Fire Evacuation Officer for the store
  • Ensure Health and Safety rules are adhered to by staff
  • Ensure the Warehouse is a safe, clean place to work

Qualifications and experience needed:

  • Full Clean Manual Driving Licence.
  • Experience of managing a small team.
  • Experience of managing a warehouse.
  • You will be a good organiser, productive, eager to learn and grow, able to work on your own initiative as well as in a team, reliable, possess good timekeeping and have good attendance.
  • FLT Counter balance licence.
  • Word processing, Spreadsheets, Accounting software, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Internet software, E-mail, Order processing and Inventory software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Health and Safety knowledge. 
  • Ability to plan work scheduals and manage budgets.
