A1 Personnel are currently recruiting for a CMM Operator on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturing automotive company based in Glasgow

As a CMM Operator, you will be responsible for operating a coordinate measuring machine during the production process. Your role involves transforming measurements and instructions into models and utilizing the machinery as an inspection tool to ensure accuracy during and after production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect detailed machined parts and assemblies for conformity to design parameters using engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform monitoring and calibration of measuring devices as assigned.
  • Conduct CMM inspections of parts and maintain proficiency in PC DMIS CMM inspection software.
  • Complete final inspections and AS9100 first article inspection sheets to document product conformity.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality assurance procedures relevant to inspection and manufacturing operations.
  • Document nonconforming products as required by internal and customer requirements.
  • Ensure tooling used as media of acceptance remains calibrated according to internal and customer standards.
  • Maintain correct material handling, identification, and traceability throughout the manufacturing sequence.
  • Perform all functions of a Quality Control Inspector as needed based on workload and production schedules.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is preferred.
  • Experience in a machining shop working with various aluminium alloys, steel, and titanium is strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic inspection tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
