Client Overview:Our client is a leading food production company based in Scotland, renowned for their high-quality products and commitment to excellence. They serve a diverse market, including major retail chains, and pride themselves on their innovative approach and dedication to sustainability. Due to recent changes in the business, they are seeking a seasoned Senior Production Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Role:The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production within my client's operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that their production processes run smoothly, and efficiently, and meet the high standards expected by their retail partners. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail packing, a proven track record of managing large teams, and the ability to handle multiple production lines simultaneously. This role requires a deep understanding of retail packing, yields, waste reduction etc, preferably with experience in protein.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, manage, and motivate a large team of production staff across multiple production lines.
  • Ensure the team operates cohesively and efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging professional development and continuous improvement.

Production Oversight:

  • Oversee daily production operations to ensure optimal performance and adherence to schedules.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in packing to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Monitor production metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all products meet my client's stringent quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues and implement necessary changes.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to streamline operations.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the production team, conducting regular training and audits.

Experience:

  • Experience in production management within the chilled/ Protein industry, specifically in retail packing
  • Proven experience managing large teams and multiple production lines.
  • In-depth understanding of retail packing, yields, and waste reduction
