Your new company Our client is recruiting a payroll assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. Working with an excellent local council, they are looking to engage with payroll professionals who can support the wider payroll function. The hours of work are Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm. The role is offered on a hybrid basis. The offices are based in Glasgow.Your new roleIn your new role, you will be reporting to the payroll team leader. You will be -

  • Preparing the monthly payroll and weekly payroll runs.
  • Processing starters and leavers
  • Updating contract changes for staff
  • Processing sickness, maternity and paternity pay calculations
  • Dealing with queries for payroll
  • Assisting with pension queries

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in your new role, you must have a basic understanding of employment law. You must also possess strong numeracy skills and communication skills, both written and verbal. You must also possess the ability to work on your own initiative and be able to prioritise duties which arise. The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of Itrent.What you'll get in return
