Role: SC Cleared Quantity SurveyorSalary/Rate: £ 40 ph (inside IR35) Location: Hybrid Glasgow - 3 days p/w on siteContract Duration: 6 months
A Quantity Surveyor with post contract and commercial experience is required by a consultancy working with some of the biggest government, infrastructure, defence, and security projects in the UK.
This Quantity Surveyor role is hybrid, based between working 3 days per week near Glasgow and the remainder of the week working remotely.
Security Clearance: Security Check ("SC Clearance")
The Quantity Surveyor role will be a 6-month contract, paying £35 - £40.50 ph inside IR35, depending on experience.
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.
Essential skills/experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc).
- Experience in the nuclear sector.
- Conversant in pre and post contract quantity surveying duties.
- Experience with NEC contracts.
- Understanding of applicable methods of measurement.
- Excellent communication skills - able to communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organised, with experience of identifying, analysing, and solving issues.
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills
- Experience of working in a wider Project Controls team on complex projects.
- In-depth working knowledge of cost engineering functions, cost control and cost analysis.
Role Profile / Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers and Programme Managers in monthly finance and delivery reviews.
- Engage with the Finance team as needed, ensuring all supporting evidence is available.
- Help develop and support the Cost Engineer in their functions.
- Assist in providing informed forecasts for the project, covering both the financial year and overall project lifecycle, in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Work with the Project Planner to ensure that forecasts are accurate and aligned with the project schedule.
- Track costs and forecasts to ensure continued affordability.
- Produce cost reporting outputs for month-end reporting and input data into relevant internal financial systems.
- Assess invoices and valuations, advising the Project Manager to resolve any discrepancies.
- Monitoring cost against change and attendance of the change control/EWN meetings.
- Prepare cost plans, estimates, bills of quantities, tender documents, and supply chain payment assessment.
