Your new companyA well known public sector organisation based in Glasgow. They provide an essential service to the public and have been in the midst of a massive IT transformation for a number of years. In recent times they have placed huge emphasis on leveraging technology to enhance the service they provide and their digital has gone from strength to strength as a result. Your new roleAs a PHP Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will collaborate closely with designers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to create seamless and visually appealing user interfaces. Your role will involve developing and integrating Progressive Web App (PWA) features such as offline capabilities, push notifications, and installable app experiences to enhance user engagement. Additionally, you will optimise application performance by implementing best practices and ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have experience of the following:

  • Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
  • Familiarity with Progressive Web App (PWA) technologies and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of database management, SQL, and experience with database migrations.
  • Ability to optimise application performance and ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in identifying and resolving issues, bugs, and bottlenecks in web applications.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including designers and front-end developers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to keep applications modern and competitive.

What you'll get in return
