Based Glasgow
Basic salary up to £28,000 depending on experience, plus bonus, pension, healthcare cash plan, discounts on shopping, travel, gym, staff discounts, holidays, further training and development and career progression.
Candidates must be able to work as part of a Rota system, 5 days over a 7 day period, and ideally possess a valid driving licence, but not essential.
My client has an exciting opportunity for a well-presented, friendly, and trustworthy salesperson to work in one of their inspiring, design-led tile showrooms based in Glasgow.
Their showrooms offer a wealth of ideas regarding how to use beautiful tiles to create a truly stunning room.
Working as a part of the retail team, you will be passionate about creating a fantastic shopping experience for their customers by focusing on combining expert knowledge with a welcoming and helpful approach.
You will be a natural salesperson, a good communicator, outgoing, enthusiastic, with a confident personality together with possessing a strong interior design background, any experience in the home improvements sector is desirable, but not essential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team and be responsible for providing knowledgeable help, advice and guidance to customers in a professional, personalised, and friendly manner.
Candidate Skills
- Able to demonstrate excellent customer services skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with customers to discuss a particular project or idea and develop a genuine understanding of the client's needs
- Ability to suggest design concepts and proposals and present these to customers
- Adapt design skills to promote products and be creative, imaginative, and energetic and have flair for design and colour
- Have a willingness to learn about various products and convey information effectively and accurately
- Computer literate, MS Office or any design package experience
- Good team player and able to work unsupervised.
Duties
- Meet and greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs, without being overbearing.
- Complete a sale efficiently, being able to accurately handle money, credit card transactions etc. and provide the customer and the company with the necessary paperwork associated with the sale.
- Keep up to date of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
- Continually learn about the product ranges.
- Maintain records related to sales.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
- Describe the range of products and explain the use, operation, and care of them to customers
- Ticket, arrange and display merchandise to promote sales
- Take delivery of stock from the main warehouse and store appropriately
- If required, help customers to their vehicle with purchased products
- Inventory stock and replenish when required
