Senior Estimator – Water Sector
Location: Glasgow
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a major global engineering firm with expertise in the design and delivery of projects within the water sector, is looking to expand its team in Scotland by recruiting an experienced Senior Estimator based in Glasgow.

Operating within the water sector, the business has seen a series of project wins and has ambitious growth plans across the UK. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to develop estimates from first principles, assess client requirements, and identify potential risks to the business. This role involves working closely with Project Managers, the Design Team, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently registering, controlling, and managing tender documentation.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities at the tender stage.
  • Developing detailed, achievable cost packages in agreement with clients.
  • Producing cost-effective tenders from first principles, including take-offs from drawings.
  • Participating in internal reviews, governance processes, presentations, and client negotiations as required.
  • Conducting the analysis and pricing of risks.
  • Preparing tender submission documents and estimating reports.
  • Providing support for proposals and contract management functions.
  • Maintaining regular liaison with management and site teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in an estimating role.
  • Strong proven experience in estimating for civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in estimating for civils, particularly within the water sector.
  • Knowledge of the estimating process using a computerised analytical estimating system.
  • Ability to challenge constructively within the Estimating and wider project teams.
