An exciting opportunity has opened for a Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic and people-focused company. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead engineer and client liaison for new design/build projects in the offshore oil and gas sector, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory standards.
- Develop detailed engineering calculations and validate designs using FEA software for topside and subsea structures.
- Collaborate with vendors to select components such as pumps, motors, and gearboxes, validating choices with calculations.
- Produce 3D concept designs based on client requirements and review fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Lead design reviews and generate test procedures and operational manuals for equipment.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in the design of fabricated structures for offshore/subsea environments, adhering to DNV standards.
- Proficient in modelling software (e.g., Solidworks, AutoCAD) and FEA tools (Solidworks or ANSYS).
- Familiarity with bolted and welded connection designs and rotating equipment design.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and experience with ATEX and hazardous area equipment design is a plus.
