We are seeking a qualified or finalist candidate proficient in Excel and possessing strong commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working closely with professional services and external departments to ensure budget ownership
  • Handling month-end tasks, business plans, and various projects
  • Engaging in business partnering activities by meeting with department heads and Managers on a regular basis
  • Ensuring timely closure of month-end by workday number four, including reconciliation, new journals, capital grants, and commentaries
  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities on an ad hoc basis
  • Looking after professional services and managing project and business cases as required
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to manage budgets effectively and efficiently

This role is situated in Gloucestershire, providing a hybrid working arrangement that allows the candidate the flexibility to choose between full-time or part-time hours. Person Specification

  • The candidate should be a qualified or finalist Accountant.
  • Strong Excel skills, including knowledge of SUMIFS, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • Previous experience in business partnering, utilising good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL would be advantageous for the role.
  • A commercial element in their sector experience, with backgrounds in construction or retail management will be beneficial.
  • The ability to work efficiently and hit the ground running is crucial.
