We are looking for a talented and motivated Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team in an exciting and fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to work across different sites, delivering critical financial information for a newly established company. You will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of fixed asset financial data, ensuring it aligns with internal controls and financial processes.
As part of this role, you will be involved in both routine and project-based activities, requiring strong analytical skills and an ability to identify potential issues in financial data before they arise. You will also support the fixed asset activities for a larger company with a £5bn turnover, helping to streamline processes and implement improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
For the New Company:
- Assist with Due Diligence on the opening balance sheet.
- Load assets into SAP, ensuring the correct data attributes.
- Define and document key financial processes and controls.
- Ensure internal controls align with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) requirements.
- Accurately record fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Advise the business on capitalisation rules and depreciation policies.
- Regularly cleanse the asset register through data checks, including overseeing physical verification.
- Provide information for the tax team to support annual tax computations.
- Contribute to internal and external audits.
- Continuously review and improve processes and procedures.
For the Larger Organisation:
- Support key controls such as Entry into Service validation and capex/opex checks.
- Provide accurate data for physical verification exercises.
- Contribute to cross-functional and local projects, including harmonising group processes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant with experience in an accounting team.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP or equivalent financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, enthusiastic team, with a proactive and positive approach.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels across multiple countries.

- Experience working with internal and external audit teams.
