Interim Group Financial Controller - 6 Month FTC

Salary: £80K to £100K dependant on experience

T2M Resourcing are recruiting an Interim Group Financial Controller on behalf of a successful, multi entity and rapidly growing business services company. This role is initially offered as a 6-month FTC.

As Group Financial Controller, you will lead the Finance team across Financial Accounts, Management Accounts and Treasury (team of c.18). You will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company including timely management accounts, statutory compliance, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance and providing financial analysis and guidance to the senior leadership team.

Key duties will include:

  • Management of the Financial Accounts Team
  • Assess and improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls across the business and accounting policies
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including banking, CIS, VAT, expenses, credit cards, limits of authority.
  • Coordinate external audits, ensuring timely provision of requested information and resolution of audit queries.
  • Financial Reporting: Review and agree the financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and provide meaningful insights to support management decision-making, business planning, and budgeting processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial and tax regulations, including timely submission of statutory financial statements and tax filings.
  • Assist with streamlining of statutory entities, coordinating strike offs and providing support as required
  • Cash and banking: Oversee the treasury function including monitoring and improving cashflow forecasts
  • Management of the Management Accounts team
  • Be responsible for the timely production of monthly management accounts and reporting packs for various companies within the Group
  • Provide group consolidations
  • Provide accurate divisional reporting and analysis
  • Provide detailed variance analysis and information to budget holders across the business
  • Ability to provide detailed excel spreadsheet modelling for analysis and forecasting purposes
  • Responsible for accurate cashflow forecasting on a regular basis
  • Prepare and consolidate Group budget templates and lead the budgeting process within Central Services teams
  • Prepare and monitor Financial KPIs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial information and reporting.

To be successful in the role of Interim Group Financial Controller, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with experience gained in industry
  • Proven experience within a multi-entity business as a Financial Controller or similar leadership role.
  • Experience leading a sizeable team, with excellent leadership and mentoring ability
  • The ability to get into the detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different functions
  • Proficiency in financial software systems (Sage 200 an advantage) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to provide strategic insights based on financial analysis.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility by adapting work in line with changing priorities
