Hays senior finance are exclusively partnering with an established and fast-growing renewable energy business. They specialise in renewable energy solutions that help their clients join the global energy transition movement.Job Purpose:The business controller is a vital role for the organisation. It is primarily responsible for the forward planning of the vision of the business and helping to steer that vision through insightful analysis and reporting.

  • The business controller ensures the adherence of the rules and the standardisation of the KPI and Business Lines reporting, while bringing diverse technical expertise.
  • Drive improvement projects and tools automation/optimisation.
  • Business partnering the business lines across the UK and indirectly business partnering the various business lines are controlled outside the UK.
  • Definition and execution of relevant and reliable KPI to enable the management of the business units,
  • Development and improvement of processes
  • Responsible for homogenising management rules across the business units
  • Drive optimisation/simplification projects and automation tool
  • Through annual budgets, they will co-ordinate the process for the various business lines.
  • Through quarterly reviews be able to look back at the actuals and, with the help of the business lines, be able to forecast forward and identify any material risks to the business and present ideas for mitigation.
  • Attend regular meetings on a weekly / monthly basis to have the most up-to-date knowledge of activities
  • Perform analytical reviews of the monthly operating results and help to ensure understanding and accuracy of reports
  • Hold and participate in monthly P&L reviews
  • Monthly reporting and presentation of internal hours to projects
  • Perform tasks associated with the month-end and year-end close of the income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations, and G/L analysis
  • Analysis and reporting including intangible assets and production (half-yearly and yearly)
  • Quarterly preparation presentations to inform and enable decision-making
  • Monitoring and performance, consolidation & benchmarking of the country's numbers, risk review (CAPEX/OPEX, margin recognition, and project status and progress)
  • Midterm analysis, performance and benchmarking with competitors
