Responsible IndividualDuration: Permanent ContractHours: 37 hours per weekLocation: GloucesterSalary: £61,174 - £66,223 per annum dependent on experienceWe are looking for a Responsible Individual to join our client’s Children and Families service based in Gloucester, who are opening children’s homes and a large, supported accommodation facility, all of which will cater for a mix of age ranges (from 9 years upwards) and needs.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a diverse range of in-house regulated residential provision in Gloucestershire, including mainstream children’s homes
  • Adopt line management responsibility for the Registered Managers for all the services in scope
  • Ensure all legal responsibilities within the stated provision are effectively discharged by establishing mechanisms
  • Ensure all children and young people placed in regulated services are receiving a standard of care that is compliant
  • Ensure the external monitoring of practice within the homes, through supervision of the RMs
  • Work directly with the RMs to individually and collectively ensure constant readiness for inspection
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience of working in statutory social care settings with children and families, including substantial experience of line managing registered children’s homes, ideally all or some of which is within local authority settings
  • Currently a Registered Manager with significant operational experience in this role, and/or a senior leader already responsible for line managing a number of children’s homes
  • Experience of managing substantial budgets, demonstrating an ability to manage tensions between needs finite resources
  • Relevant leadership/management qualification
  • Full driving license and willingness to drive
