A large-scale multinational Defence business is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager on a fulltime permanent basis in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (hybrid working).

The Commercial Manager will be responsible to negotiate terms and conditions and ensuring compliance with t&c's and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise in the management of contracts made with customers, vendors, partners or employees.

Experience working in the Aerospace and/or Defence industry is preferred however, applicants will be considered from all technical manufacturing / engineering industries.

Key responsibilities for Commercial Contracts Manager job role and not limited to:

  • Support development of effective commercial strategies to underpin the achievement IPT objectives.
  • Ensure and maintain effective commercial governance in accordance with policies, procedures and processes.
  • Management of commercial aspects of Bids, including the drafting of terms and conditions and clearance through the Bid review process.
  • Lead contract and subcontract and LTA negotiations ensuring the flow of prime terms and the implementation of effective contract management during project lifecycles for the IPT.
  • Lead contract negotiations for non-strategic bids and subcontracts. Support strategic bids and contract negotiations.
  • Implementation of the appropriate commercial / contractual arrangements for the delivery of the IPT's strategic projects and programmes, ensuring that such arrangements protect Ultra's commercial and financial interests. Propose and manage effective arrangements for non-strategic projects and programmes.
  • Support implementation and management of key business processes ensuring commercial integrity of activities through the bid review process ensuring that all business development opportunities and bids meet agreed commercial criteria including risk-reward balance.
  • Work collaboratively with and support the IPT and other functions. Share ownership of problems and actively lead and/or support resolution strategies, plans and actions.

Key skills and experience required for Commercial Contracts Manager role and not limited to:

  • Proven experience within a Commercial and/or Contract orientated role
  • Working knowledge of contracts and standard contracting terms for supply of goods and services
  • Eligible to gain UK (SC) Security Clearance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
