Are you an experienced Commercial Manager ready to make a significant impact in a high-profile role? Join us as the key commercial lead for a major client contract, working closely with senior management to drive strategic initiatives and deliver exceptional commercial outcomes. Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Director, this role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the commercial strategy and operations for a contract with an annual turnover of approximately £15 million.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for all commercial and legal matters, collaborating with the client to resolve issues and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Provide daily commercial management support to contract teams, actively mitigating risks and identifying opportunities.
- Implement and manage a robust Supplier Security Management Process.
- Guide the team on variations, damage claims, and supply chain matters.
- Oversee the preparation and execution of contractual documents, ensuring adherence to best practices, governance policies, and internal protocols.
- Contribute to the development of internal commercial policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency across the board.
What We’re Looking For: To thrive in this role, you’ll need strong commercial management experience, ideally within a public sector context.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record with various contract types (e.g., Target Cost, Fixed Price) and a solid understanding of contract legislation.
- A background in NEC3 terms and conditions, with experience negotiating contract variations.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a demonstrated history of managing complex stakeholder relationships and third-party contracts.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIPS) or degree in a business/commercial discipline is advantageous.
Personal Attributes:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present at senior management levels.
- Highly analytical, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
- Strong financial awareness with a detail-oriented, organized work style.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a senior management team.
Security Clearance Requirement:
Due to the nature of this role, successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain Local Security Clearance.
