Your new companyYou will be joining an established main contractor operating in the utilities sector. This multi-accredited organisation has a strong pipeline of work, working across multiple contracts valued up to £3m for high-profile clientele. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the civil engineering industry and, due to continued success, they are looking to onboard an Operations Manager to join their business.Your new roleAs Operations Manager, you will be based in their Gloucester office and be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the planning, execution and completion of works within their drainage division
  • Coordinating with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Managing project timelines and ensuring resources and equipment are available and efficiently used
  • Preparing budgets and financial reports
  • Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Monitoring project costs and making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you will have:

  • Previous experience in civil engineering (ideally within drainage works) at a senior management level
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Understanding of budgeting, cost control and financial reporting
  • Relevant degrees/qualifications in civil engineering.
