Job OverviewMy client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee and manage their existing contracts and play a key role in supporting the electrical departments growth moving forward. The ideal candidate would have demonstratable experience in the Social Housing sector whilst being able to manage works within the general domestic and commercial sectors.
The ideal candidate would have a positive outlook on developing and mentoring a team of engineers, supervisors and administration staff to provide high standards of workmanship and service delivery.
Skills/Abilities required
- Ability to manage a wide range of projects and work streams
- Dedicated to maintaining the highest quality standard in Health and Safety and service delivery
- Proven leadership skills including management of engineers and supervisors
- Maintain accurate records of all contracts and related documentation in an organised manner
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly
- Commercially aware with a good grasp of operating under different contract conditions
- Provide monthly reporting of contracts to ensure financial targets are being met and all internal and external KPI's are being achieved
- Be able to manage both labour and material spend in the most cost effective ways
- Maintain excellent relationships with employees, contractors and clients
- Review and regularly asses your team to ensure all engineering personnel are working to a high standard and take remedial action if appropriate.
- Responsible for the development of staff, which will include annual appraisals
- Offer technical support to both the client and the engineering team
- Effective time management skills to handle competing priorities efficiently
- Development and delivery of tool box talks
Skills/Experience
- Hold a minimum of NVQ level 3, AM2 and City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent
- Experience of using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Outlook, Excel and TEAMS
- Be a good communicator with an organised and methodical approach
- Ability to work on your own initiative
- An ability to develop and motivate others
