About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire and Security Engineer to join their team in Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a leading company in the Fire & Safety sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of various fire detection and security systems, including:
- Fire alarm systems
- Intruder alarms
- CCTV systems
- Access control systems
- Emergency lighting
This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to work with cutting-edge technology while ensuring the highest level of safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission fire and security systems at commercial and residential properties.
- Conduct thorough system testing to ensure compliance with client and regulatory standards.
- Provide client training on system operation and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance and reactive servicing on all fire and security systems.
- Inspect systems proactively to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in fire and security systems with minimal disruption to clients.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and ensure quick resolutions.
- Offer recommendations to enhance system performance, safety, and reliability.
- Ensure all work adheres to industry regulations, including:
- BS5839 (Fire Alarms)
- BS EN 50131 (Intruder Alarms)
- BS 5266 (Emergency Lighting)
- Complete detailed reports on work completed, system performance, and compliance.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients regarding system operation and maintenance.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety precautions.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and servicing fire and security systems.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel between client sites.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Electrical experience related to fire and security systems.
- Certifications such as City & Guilds Level 3, NICEIC, or FIA qualifications.
- Experience working with integrated security systems.
