Finance Manager

- Salary: Up to £55k dependent on experience.
Reed Accountancy is partnering with a PE-backed manufacturing company to find a Finance Manager for their Gloucester location. This key role involves overseeing the finance function, delivering timely management accounts, and supporting the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of accounting records and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement in reporting.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Establish and oversee weekly/monthly efficiency and price variance reports, aiding the business in understanding key financial metrics.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor the transactional team, ensuring accountability and optimal performance.
- Working Capital and KPI Management: Develop and implement working capital management processes, calculate KPIs, and maintain schedules for liquidated damages and warranties.
- Accounting and Compliance: Manage intercompany accounting, VAT returns, ECC Sales, Intrastat, and ensure accurate accounting for foreign offices.
- Support and Coordination: Assist the Financial Controller with reporting requirements, coordinate payroll information, and manage fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant: Holds CIMA/ACCA certification with relevant experience in manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Technical Management Accounting: Possesses a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Financial Processes and Controls: Demonstrates a strong understanding and capability to enhance processes.
- Proficiency in IT Systems: Proficient in Excel and other IT systems.
- Collaboration and Communication: Exhibits excellent communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
