Finance Manager

Gloucester (office-based 5 days a week)

A site-based Finance Manager role with a well-known, international manufacturing business. A position that will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, leading a small finance team, and ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to Group. Perfect for a hands-on accountant who wants to work for a growing business.

Some of your duties will include:

Owning the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate and complete reporting of financial performance.
Preparing and submitting monthly management accounts to Group Finance, with clear variance analysis and commentary.
Identifying and implementing improvements to financial processes and controls to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Leading, supporting and developing a small team.
Working closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Acting as a key point of contact for Group Finance and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, tax advisors).
Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT, PAYE, and other HMRC filings.
Supporting audit processes and liaising with external auditors during interim and year-end audits

Candidate profile

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager role, ideally within a medium-sized business.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with month-end close and management reporting.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team.
Ideally with some experience of manufacturing.
Strong process orientation with a track record of driving operational improvements in finance
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with finance systems (ERP knowledge advantageous).
