Principal Road Safety Engineer needed in Gloucester Paying £50,788 per annum Ref 5266130

Full time hrs on a permanent basis

Key responsibilities include:

 You will lead a team tasked with reducing road traffic casualties in the county of Gloucestershire, managing road safety schemes, analysing collision data, speed management, providing safety reviews of highway design proposals and undertaking Road Safety Audits.

 You will work to implement road safety strategies and meet casualty reduction targets. This will include leading on a programme of Road Safety schemes including project management and commissioning. You will manage budgets and provide regular updates.

 You will supervise, mentor, advise, and support members of the team, assisting the Road Safety Manager to ensure continuing team development and strong team working. Y

 You will work with local, regional, and national interest groups to help in the evolution, innovation and promotion of safe, healthy and sustainable travel for all road users.

 You will have knowledge and appreciation of the Safe System. You will have experience in managing colleagues and projects. You will have experience of monitoring budgets and reporting their status. You will have expert knowledge of road safety including requirements for ensuring highway design meets standards and guidance and provides safe solutions for all road users.
