My client is a leading planning consultancy, is looking for a talented Senior Planner to join their dynamic team. With an impressive and varied client portfolio, including large residential schemes, mixed-use developments, and urban regeneration. Role Overview:

In this Senior Planner position, you will be instrumental in providing expert planning advice and excellent client care. You will apply your advanced planning knowledge to manage projects independently, guide junior team members, and ensure that the company's high standards of service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and pre-application inquiries.
  • Participate in community engagement activities, committee meetings, and public inquiries as required.
  • Conduct research and provide detailed planning appraisals on potential development sites.
  • Produce high-quality reports with well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings when necessary.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, refining your communication and client service skills.
  • Collaborate with trusted partners to achieve optimal results for clients.
  • Stay updated with the latest planning legislation and decisions through CPD.
  • Build and nurture professional relationships with all stakeholders, including local authorities.
  • Utilize internal planning software to manage processes and workflow effectively.
Required Experience:
  • Proven experience in leading planning projects and applying planning knowledge in a commercial context.
  • Strong understanding of the planning process, with experience managing client projects from start to finish.
  • Solid track record in report writing and providing recommendations on planning matters.
  • An eye for design and a creative approach to problem-solving in planning.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Town Planning or a related environmental field.
  • Membership of the RTPI.
  • Extensive experience working in the UK, particularly within the private sector.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Developed knowledge of the planning system, enabling you to deliver expert advice and solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management abilities, ensuring deadlines are met and accuracy is maintained.
  • Proficient in report writing, with the ability to simplify complex issues for diverse audiences.
  • A positive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
