Paralegal - Fixed Term Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced Legal Directors and solicitors, gaining valuable experience in conveyancing, land acquisition, and affordable housing transactions.
The Role:
We are recruiting for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to provide full and efficient support to the Legal Directors. This position is offered on a fixed-term contract of up to 12 months and will involve handling various aspects of land acquisition and conveyancing. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring transactions are processed efficiently, while maintaining confidentiality and excellent client care at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day conduct of land acquisition and related work files under supervision.
- Open and maintain client files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collate and review title, planning, and development information, liaising with clients as needed.
- Handle document preparation, including contracts, standard letters, and legal documents.
- Assist with enquiries, legal research, and document quality checks.
- Manage telephone calls, emails, and correspondence.
- Prepare SDLT forms for HMRC and submission forms for HM Land Registry.
- Organise completion statements, spreadsheets, and all necessary paperwork for transaction completion.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and firm policies.
Candidate Profile:
Essential:
- Experience in a Legal Assistant or Paralegal role.
- Knowledge of land law is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in ICT and legal case management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Law degree or equivalent qualification.
- GCSE Level 5 (Grade C) or above in English and Maths.
Additional Information:
- Location: Gloucester Office
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (37.5 hours per week)
