Maintenance Engineer

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days and nights

Role Purpose

The Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician will ensure high-quality, scheduled, and reactive maintenance across the site. The focus includes diagnosing root causes of issues, quickly restoring equipment to service, and identifying cost-effective solutions to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability. You would be working in a plastic environment, so a plasitic or packaging background would be a ideal for this role although it's not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repairs:
    • Perform planned, condition-based, and corrective maintenance
    • Ensure swift and accurate fault diagnosis and equipment restoration.
  • Technical Skills & Competence:
    • Work with electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
    • Demonstrate strong electrical skills and sound mechanical diagnostic and replacement abilities.
    • Apply basic automation skills for fault-finding.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement asset and equipment improvements.
    • Contribute to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Recognized apprenticeship completion.
    • Preferred: Electrical or Mechanical qualification (with additional electrical competence).
    • Relevant certifications (ONC/HNC, IOSH/NEBOSH desirable).
  • Skills & Experience:
    • Maintenance experience within manufacturing environments.
    • Familiarity with automation and continuous improvement tools/techniques is advantageous.
