Maintenance Engineer

Location :Gloucester

Permanent: Full Time Monday to Sunday (Continuous fixed Pitman dayshift schedule, to be worked from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. )

Salary:  Competitive, depending on experience

Hawk 3 Talent solutions are looking to recruit a Maintenace Engineer for their client, a specialist manufacturer based in Gloucester.

Overview

      To maximise machines' output and maintain manufacturing processes in a fast pace and busy production environment

To continuously improve manufacturing processes in order to maximise safety, quality and productivity of production lines

Key Responsibilities

-             Perform routine maintenance activities on all aspects of production equipment with a focus on electrical and mechanical standards

-             Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults on production machines, PLCs and control panels ensuring downtime is minimal

-             Conduct reactive maintenance on production machines

-             Can read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics and machine manuals to repair and improve equipment functionality

-             Strong collaborator who can liaise with production teams to ensure maintenance activities are prioritised in the right way

-             Ability to implement improvement initiatives to optimise equipment performance and increase operating efficiencies

-             Ensures compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental standards whilst maintaining accurate maintenance records

-             Liaise with suppliers and contractors as required when sourcing specialist information and spare parts for equipment

-             Will participate in training sessions and maintain technical knowledge of industry standards and equipment standards

-             Attends Engineering Review meetings

-             Attends Manufacturing Short Interval Control meetings

-             Understands benefits of 5S - Implements and maintains workplace organization and visual management standards

-             Understanding of Maintenance/ Repair and Operations budget

Qualifications

-             Electro/ Mechanical Engineering Qualification - Minimum NVQ Level3, City and Guilds or equivalent

-             Proven experience as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with electrical bias

-             Strong electrical fault-finding skills with PLC knowledge

-             Competent in both electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs

-             Knowledge of Lean principles and CI methodologies

-             Desirably from CNC machine background but not essential
