We are looking for someone with significant experience in the Environmental Protection field, preferably a qualified EHO. A successful candidate will need to have a strong knowledge base and an ability to "hit the ground running".

Essential qualities would include:-

  • experience in successfully dealing with statutory nuisance complaints/investigations, including use of newer powers such as Community Protection Notices;
  • competence and experience in the use of sound level monitoring/measuring equipment and the subsequent interpretation of results (e.g. BS4142, "MATRON",etc); and

It would also be advantageous for a candidate to have experience in the air quality field.

It would be preferred if a candidate was a qualified EHO but we would also consider other professionals with significant relevant experience in the Environmental Protection field.

A successful candidate will hold a full driving licence and will provide his/her own transport. Although there is scope for remote working on occasions, there is an expectation that the successful candidate will work from our offices for the majority of the time, in order to be available for responsive site visits, etc. There may also be a need for pre-planned work outside of normal working hours by arrangement.

Normal working hours are 37 hours per week (flexible) with an expectation of largely covering the main working hours of 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
