With a strong reputation and a commitment to customer satisfaction, they are expanding their team and are looking for an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join.
Job Description:
As a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will play a key role in managing and estimating the cost of building and refurbishment projects. You will work closely with the project management team to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your responsibilities will include preparing detailed cost estimates, conducting site measurements, and managing project finances from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for building and refurbishment projects.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant data.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate costs.
- Manage project budgets and ensure all costs are controlled throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Provide support during the tendering process, including the preparation of bids.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and forecasts for ongoing projects.
- Assist with the valuation of completed work and the preparation of final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of building and refurbishment contracts.
- Excellent understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial control.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in using industry-specific software and Microsoft Office.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
