EHCP Service Manager (6-Month Contract)

Location: Southwest England
Rate: 525 per day (umbrella)

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced leader to join our team for a 6-month contract, ensuring children and young people (0-25) in Gloucestershire with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) have access to inclusive and appropriate education. Your mission will be to operationally manage and influence the EHCP Service, working closely with education, health, and social care partners to develop and deliver high-quality plans and ensure educational progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management: Provide effective leadership and operational management of the EHCP Service.
  • Relational Practice: Model and embed relational practices within the team.
  • Service Development: Contribute to and manage service development plans, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Partnership Working: Foster strong partnerships with colleagues, professionals, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Customer Service: Ensure high standards of customer service and incorporate feedback for service improvement.
  • Compliance: Manage the EHCP service in line with the Children and Families Act 2015.
  • Resource Management: Ensure efficient use of resources to meet children's needs.
  • Data Utilisation: Implement and manage data collection models to track trends and forecast SEND needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Continuously improve the quality of SEND casework service and ensure child-centered, outcome-focused services.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience:
    • Extensive background in the education sector.
    • Proven leadership and management experience.
    • Experience in multi-agency working and chairing meetings.
    • Strong resource management skills.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Deep understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
    • Ability to foster inclusive education for children with SEND.
    • Effective communication and partnership-building skills.
    • Proficient in using data to drive service improvements.
  • Attributes:
    • Politically astute with excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Resilient, proactive, and innovative problem-solver.
    • Committed to championing the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Qualifications:
    • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
    • Relevant professional development in education and SEND.
