Storesperson
Location: Quedgeley
Hours: Full time, day shift (early finish on Friday)
Salary: Competitive based on experience
Key Responsibilities of a Storesperson:
- Control stock within the stores
- Carry out receipt and issues for goods going into & out of the stores
- Ensure that all goods are booked in accurately and transferred and kitted as required within defined timeframes
- Ensure that all required documentation is dispatched with the goods
- Conduct perpetual inventory measurements and stock adjustments as needed
- Perform goods-in visual inspections to check for defects or damage
- Identify stock shortages and manage replenishment
- Correctly kit works order components and materials, making necessary changes to valve structures
- Enter information into the MRP system
- Prepare documents in line with company processes, including goods received notes, route cards, and non-conformance reports
- Use a forklift truck (FLT) to unload deliveries and move stock
- Operate an overhead crane as required
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in the stores area
- Follow company procedures and suggest improvements where necessary
Key Skills of a Storesperson:
- Minimum 1 year of stores experience, ideally in a mechanical engineering environment
- Valid FLT licence and experience using an overhead crane
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective time management
