Document Controller

Company information:

We are a successful Engineering company based in the heart of Godalming. We design and manufacture equipment for the petrochemical industry and are looking for a Document Controller to join our team on a permanent basis. The role is based in our office, located on Godalming High Street.

Our ideal candidate would be an experienced Document Controller; however, we are firm believers of the fact that you can teach skill but not attitude, and we will be happy to consider applications from any candidate who is interested in the role and possess the necessary attributes.

Purpose of the Role:

  • To ensure that project documentation is correctly managed in terms of distribution internally, as well as to clients and suppliers.
  • To ensure that documents are prepared and formatted properly to comply with our clients’ specifications.
  • To ensure that records of documentation are fully accurate and up to date.
  • To ensure that the company’s quality assurance (QA) documentation is organised, consistent, and in accordance with company procedures. To coordinate the activities required to meet the quality standards, and to work with external auditors and consultants on maintaining ISO 9001 certification.

  • Methodical and with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to liaise with people at all levels

Previous Experience

  • Experience managing projects and coordinating others to meet deadlines
  • Previous experience working with Quality Management Systems would be desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Quality Assurance System ISO 9001 would be an advantage.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows OS 10 & 11
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Access
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (pdfs)
  • Experience using web applications and file sharing services (google drive, drop-box, one drive, etc)
