Audit Manager - Top 20 Practice - £60,000-£73,000 - Godalming

Our client, a Top 20 Accountancy firm, is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their team in Godalming. Following an exciting period of expansion, they are looking for a driven professional to manage a diverse portfolio of clients while leading audit engagements and supporting business growth.

The Opportunity- Manage a portfolio of clients with fees exceeding £500,000, including large and complex audits- Work with specialist clients across film, TV, animation production, charities, tech, and financial services- Lead teams on audits, ensuring quality delivery while managing budgets and client expectations- Act as the primary contact for clients, providing technical expertise and commercial insights- Support trainee development, working alongside senior management to mentor and guide staff- Collaborate with tax, payroll, and other departments to provide a seamless client service- Identify and convert commercial opportunities, contributing to business development and firm growth- Assist with audit inspections, technical reviews, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102, and IFRS- Balance hands-on audit work with strategic problem-solving, helping partners navigate complex client challenges

What We're Looking For- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with strong technical expertise in audit and accounting standards- Proven experience managing audits within a mid-tier firm, handling a diverse client portfolio- Commercially aware with the ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and strategic way- Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing teams- A proactive and solution-focused mindset, able to manage risk and make sound commercial decisions
