We are delighted to be working with a lovely company based in Godalming who are looking for a Paralegal to join their family law team. The Paralegal will be joining a small, supportive and close-knit team. The Paralegal will be responsible for assisting with family law administration and support with client management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answering the phone
  • Initial meetings with clients
  • Scanning and filing documents
  • Preparing file opening including client care documents
  • Closing files and archiving
  • Engrossing documents and sending them to clients for signature
  • Drafting of letters
  • Diary management, room booking and assisting with travel arrangements for fee earners
  • Data input
  • Family: (with supervision) preparation of court bundles, drafting court applications, sitting behind counsel at hearings, managing straight forward divorce applications, drafting briefs and collating documents to go with the same and collating form E’s and the information for them.
  • To undertake such other reasonable additional duties as are consistent with this job description from time to time allocated by the dedicated fee earner

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Able to manage time effectively and manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge and experience of family law.
  • Commitment to client care and proving high levels of service.
  • Attention to detail to ensure good levels of punctuation and spelling and formatting in accordance with company standards.
  • Competent IT skills to include Microsoft Office programmes.
  • A general awareness of the legal market.
