Aspiring Art Therapist – Godalming

We are seeking a compassionate and creative Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist school that supports children with high-support autism and profound multiple learning difficulties. This role is ideal for an art or creative graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a therapeutic environment while making a meaningful impact on the lives of children.
About the Role:
- Salary: £95 per day
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:45pm (term time only)
- Start Date: Immediately
As an LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting the children’s daily lives, including personal care, toilet care, changing, and feeding. You will also help create a nurturing and stimulating environment, using art, music, and play as therapeutic tools to engage and support the children.
Global Development Delay (GDD):Global Development Delay refers to a significant delay in two or more areas of a child’s development, such as motor skills, speech, cognition, or social-emotional growth. In this role, you will work closely with children who have GDD, learning their unique stimuli and preferences to help them thrive. Your support will be instrumental in fostering their development and enhancing their quality of life.

What We’re Looking For:
- A caring, patient, and empathetic individual with a passion for working with children.
- Art Graduates who are open to personal care and understand their objectives within Art Therapy, health and social care
- A background in art, creativity, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- An understanding of the therapeutic roles art, music, and play can have in supporting children with SEN.
