Responsibilities:As an Assembly Operative, you will:

  • Assist in mechanical overhauls of traction Gearboxes, including disassembly and assembly
  • Conduct mechanical inspections of Rail Gearbox parts
  • Perform failure and root cause analysis for defects
  • Execute necessary repairs and quality checks to industry standards
  • Disassemble and reassemble products per work order instructions
  • Drive productivity improvements while adhering to efficiency and utilisation standards
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental practises within your zone
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities, contributing to workshops and discussions

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Strong mechanical fitting skills with hands-on experience
  • Familiarity with Gearbox systems and mechanical overhauls
  • Proficient in mechanical inspection techniques
  • Experience in failure and root cause analysis
  • Commitment to quality checks and safety regulations

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
