Responsibilities:
As an Assembly Operative, you will:
- Assist in mechanical overhauls of traction Gearboxes, including disassembly and assembly
- Conduct mechanical inspections of Rail Gearbox parts
- Perform failure and root cause analysis for defects
- Execute necessary repairs and quality checks to industry standards
- Disassemble and reassemble products per work order instructions
- Drive productivity improvements while adhering to efficiency and utilisation standards
- Champion health, safety, and environmental practises within your zone
- Engage in continuous improvement activities, contributing to workshops and discussions
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Strong mechanical fitting skills with hands-on experience
- Familiarity with Gearbox systems and mechanical overhauls
- Proficient in mechanical inspection techniques
- Experience in failure and root cause analysis
- Commitment to quality checks and safety regulations
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting
