As the Weekend MRP Operator you will work as part of a small team to nest steel fabrication jobs on multiple machines to a high standard, as well as resolve minor programming issues to ensure machines are capable of operating over the weekend. They will be experienced in working with PLM, Strumis, Microsoft works.
**experience in nesting, preferably using steel projects PLM and or Strumis (Distinct advantage)**
Rate of pay -£27.00 per hour (13 Weeks probationary period CIS / Umbrella)
Shifts- Friday to Sunday, 07:00 17:30
You will be required to completed 3 weeks initial training with the day shift (39 hrs Monday Thursday 7am -5pm)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Read steel fabrication drawings
- Nest steel fabrication jobs on multiple machines to a high standard
- Assist the machine shop with any issues.
- Receive job packs and organise the flow of the works through the factory
- Assist in ensuring that all production documentation (e.g. machine programmes) are correct
- Plan effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
- Liaise with machine shop supervisors to ensure machines run efficiently.
- Review and develop existing programmes to ensure maximum efficiency and quality
- Assist in solving manufacturing and quality issues
- Make recommendations on observations for process improvement
- Line report to the Nesting Supervisor
- Liaise with Supervisors/Chargehands
- Work in a safe and responsible manner taking reasonable care of your own and other peoples healthand safety
- Follow and adhere to all training received
- Ensure that HSEQ policies and practices are adhered to
- Report accidents, incidents and near misses to the QHSE Manager
- Report any defects/fabrication non-conformities to your supervisor
- Maintain records and traceability throughout the fabrication process
- Wear and look after issued PPE/RPE
- Not to deliberately interfere with or misuse anything provided to maintain safety and to comply with legislation
- Participate in risk assessments and comply with controls specified in the risk assessment
- Ability to multitask, prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
- Meet targets and complete jobs within deadlines in a safe and tidy manner
- Nesting / Steel Projects (PLM) knowledge is preferable
