We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer with expertise in PyQt, and/or PySide to join our dynamic team on a contract basis.
This project involves creating a robust, offline-capable desktop application using PyQt or PySide, with integration to Oracle databases. The application will enable the efficient collection of site metadata whilst offline, synchronising with the central database archive on return to the office or when an internet connection is available.
Skills:
Design and develop a high-performance desktop application using PyQt or PySide
Implement secure data synchronization between the application and Oracle databases
Create an intuitive, touch-friendly user interface for Windows 10/11 environments
Develop offline capabilities with local data storage and record conflict resolution
Integrate additional tools such as graphical viewers and voice recorders
Ensure data security and integrity throughout the application
Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a dynamic team
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine and implement project requirements
Qualifications and Essential Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer, with a strong portfolio of desktop applications, with expert-level proficiency in Python, with extensive experience in PyQt or PySide
Experience with Oracle databases and ORM technologies
Experience with offline-first application design and data synchronization
Familiarity with cloud technologies
Familiarity with Windows application development and touch-screen interfaces
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
