Our client based in the Fareham area is looking to recruit an experienced Composite Technician to join their team.

Hours:

39 hours per week (7.30am – 4.30pm) with a 12.30 finish on a Friday.

Two 15 minute paid breaks and a half hour unpaid lunch. (Friday there is one break and no lunch.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Constructing carbon fibre yacht mast according to handbook
  • Measure and mark out positions for any necessary routering, cutting, drilling, riveting

etc.

  • Join sections where required
  • Using various hand tools to make cut outs etc as per design in the main composite structure of the yacht mast tube
  • Bonding and laminating of parts as per design
  • Check own work and work of other composite dept team members
  • Clear communication around changes required to meet product quality
  • Building product to a pre-determined deadline
  • Maintain high attention to detail and quality
  • Record keeping of time taken to produce the product
  • Assist with stock take
  • Health and safety in the workplace compliance and awareness

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality composite products
  • Ability to read technical drawings, data sheets and laminate specs
  • Previous glass and carbon wet laminating experience
  • Hand and power tool experience
  • Ability to read measurements and do basic maths
