Our client based in the Fareham area is looking to recruit an experienced Composite Technician to join their team.
Hours:
39 hours per week (7.30am – 4.30pm) with a 12.30 finish on a Friday.Â
Two 15 minute paid breaks and a half hour unpaid lunch. (Friday there is one break and no lunch.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Constructing carbon fibre yacht mast according to handbook
- Measure and mark out positions for any necessary routering, cutting, drilling, riveting
etc.
- Join sections where required
- Using various hand tools to make cut outs etc as per design in the main composite structure of the yacht mast tube
- Bonding and laminating of parts as per design
- Check own work and work of other composite dept team members
- Clear communication around changes required to meet product quality
- Building product to a pre-determined deadline
- Maintain high attention to detail and quality
- Record keeping of time taken to produce the product
- Assist with stock take
- Health and safety in the workplace compliance and awareness
Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality composite products
- Ability to read technical drawings, data sheets and laminate specs
- Previous glass and carbon wet laminating experience
- Hand and power tool experience
- Ability to read measurements and do basic maths
