A National Charity is seeking a Housing Support Worker in Grantham to assist vulnerable tenants with housing-related support and tenancy management.THE ROLE As a Housing Support Worker, you will work with male and female tenants in supported housing, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources needed to maintain their tenancy and work towards independent living. Key responsibilities include:
  • Engaging with referral agencies, statutory bodies, and third-sector organizations to generate service referrals.
  • Conducting initial assessments of service users, identifying needs, risks, and suitability for the service.
  • Developing and delivering tailored support plans, ensuring outcomes are monitored and reviewed regularly.
  • Maintaining regular contact with service users and acting as a positive role model.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring personal and service user safety.
  • Supporting tenants with housing management duties, including rent account monitoring, support planning, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Carrying out health and safety inspections of the building and ensuring compliance.
THE CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals within a supported housing or social care setting. You will also have:
  • Experience providing direct support to individuals in a housing setting.
  • Knowledge of tenancy sustainment, housing management, and welfare benefits.
  • Strong record-keeping skills, including monitoring rent accounts and support plans.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and ensuring service user safety.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with external agencies.
THE CONTRACT
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
  • 3-month contract, with potential for a temp-to-perm opportunity
  • £16.09 per hour (LTD) / £13.72 per hour (PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay)
