Financial ControllerFull-Time | £60,000 - £65,000Office Bases - GravesendGoldhawk Associates is partnering with a growing organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function. This is a newly created role, offering a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of financial operations, streamline processes, and support commercial decision-making.The RoleAs Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring robust reporting, compliance, and strategic insights. Key responsibilities include:
  • Financial Reporting – Producing accurate monthly accounts and delivering key financial insights.
  • Payroll & Compliance – Managing payroll and handling statutory submissions, including VAT and CIS.
  • Commercial Finance – Partnering with key stakeholders to provide financial analysis that drives decision-making.
  • Process Improvement – Identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and financial accuracy.
  • Cash Flow & Controls – Managing bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and credit control.
  • Audit & Governance – Overseeing the annual audit process and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Leadership & Development – Supporting and mentoring an Accounts Assistant, fostering their professional growth.
What We’re Looking For
  1. A qualified accountant (or QBE) with proven experience in a similar financial leadership role.
  2. Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret reports and provide commercial insights.
  3. Experience managing and developing staff in a finance setting.
  4. Excellent organisational skills, able to balance multiple priorities effectively.
  5. Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Excel and accounting software.
