Shifts: 4 on 4 off Shifts (Day Shifts only, 06:00 - 18:00)
Salary: Circa £56,000 + Basic & Benefits
The Company:
My client is an nationally recognised manufacturer currently working with some very impressive big names within the food production industry. Due to their growth and the expansion they are seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to assist with their ongoing projects and overall growth of the maintenance engineering team.
To do this they have set up a brand new site with the latest equipment, a canteen serving hot and cold foods on-site 24/7, yearly pay rises and appraisals to discuss where you would like to go in the company to ensure you are able to grow and progress within the company long term, free parking and electric car charging ports, and options for your shift patterns and your training and career progression!
Position Duties:
This role involves overseeing the team, ensuring timely and effective completion of planned and reactive maintenance tasks while maintaining safety standards and adhering to food safety protocols. The individual will manage equipment breakdowns, track inventory, and report daily on site operations, contributing to the smooth functioning of the facility including;

Conduct weekly site machinery and equipment inventory and update records as required.

Attend daily production meetings, highlighting general factory issues and potential solutions.

Create a clear vision and sense of purpose for your team, inspiring them through integrity and professionalism.

Maximize team involvement and engagement through effective communication and a focus on people development.

Maintain up-to-date maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.

Ensure the use of food-grade/food-safe materials and lubricants in all maintenance activities.

Conduct daily site inspections and report any damage or missing parts promptly.

Adhere to equipment handback procedures following repairs or maintenance.
Requirements:

At least 3 years experience managing a team of at least 8 direct reports..

You must have strong communication and people skills, leadership.

Intermediate excel skills, CMMS system experience and knowledge

Passion for problem solving, and innovation.

Several years experience working within a FMCG environment, preferable food production.

Have completed an onsite apprenticeship and hold a minimum of a HND in Electrical Engineering.

Both electrical and mechanical training (above level 3 NVQ) & BSc Engineering (highly desirable)

Be a strong communicator, building trust and fostering open dialogue.
