A fantastic full-time opportunity has become available for an experienced Folder Gluer operator to join our highly skilled team here at Leading Edge Labels and Packaging Ltd.

Leading Edge Labels & Packaging is an award winning state of the art UV Flexo Label, Film and Carton Printer based in Kent, offering a wide range of innovative packaging solutions to large retail and blue chip companies globally.

Location:Gravesend, Kent

The Role:

This is a busy and exciting position within a fast-paced department; therefore, we require a highly motivated, energetic and organised individual.

Your main responsibility will be to operate the Folder Gluer ensuring finished cartons are completed to the highest standard and packed ready for despatch.

We operate the latest in technology on our Folder Gluer with camera detection systems to aid in the optimisation of quality assurance and to give the operators reassurance that any misfires will be detected at high running speeds.

The operator assumes responsibility for the packing team that support the machine and will need to work well with this team to ensure compliance of the product and that all procedures are followed.

It is essential to our business that all stock is produced to the highest standard with quality at the heart of the company whilst also maintaining good efficiency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To operate and maintain the Folder Gluer.
  • Ensure high quality finished product at all times.
  • Must adhere to the companys Health and Safety policy.
  • To follow the planned schedule and produce the required level of output.
  • To carry out daily operator maintenance and report any machine issues.
  • Must have very good attention to detail.
  • Responsible for setting up and operating the Folder Gluer entirely, including glue systems (hot and cold ), camera system and final delivery section.
  • Must complete all paperwork correctly and report any issues to the Manager.

What we Require:

  • An experienced Folder Gluer operator (some training will be given but previous experience is essential).
  • Motivated and organised individual.
  • Willing to learn and operate under our conditions and follow our procedures.
  • Flexible, professional and a hard-working approach.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work on your own and motivate the team supporting the area.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties.

Hours & Pay:

Permanent position working 40 hours per week on a split shift 6 2 / 2 10 shift ( no nightshift ).

Shift changes every 2 weeks from 6 2 to 2 10.

Occasional requirement for overtime by extending the shifts.

Monthly bonus paid after a 3-month probation period.

Hourly rate of pay will be negotiable and will depend upon experience, but the expectation will be £30k+ pa with productivity bonus.
