Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Primary School

Role Overview:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching staff and enhancing the learning experience of stutents. You will work closely with teachers to plan and deliver high-quality learning activities, provide targeted support to students, and contribute to the overall development of the school community in heart of Gravesend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, ensuring a high standard of education.
- Support individual and small groups of students with their learning needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students with additional needs.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
