About the Role:
TeacherActive is seeking a motivated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA) to join our team in Grays starting in April 2025. As an SEN LSA, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their social skills, and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Help students develop their independence and self-confidence.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists and educational psychologists, to support student development.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for working with children and a genuine interest in special educational needs.
  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
