Role Overview:
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with varying needs.
- Helping to create a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and positive behavior.
- Supporting students with personal care and mobility as required.
- Collaborating with teachers to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed.
- Building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive learning community.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
