We are currently representing a Roofing and Cladding specialists who are a leading roofing, cladding and total envelope contracting business operating United Kingdom, currently employing more than 300 people between these locations.
They design, supply and install all types of roofing and cladding systems incorporating louvres, glazing and door systems covering both new build and refurbishment projects. In addition, to contracting with main contractors, we work for Clients directly or with their project management teams and with Architects and Engineers.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Flat Roofing and Cladding Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for flat roofing and cladding projects, analyzing blueprints and specifications, and collaborating with clients, suppliers, and project managers to ensure the successful execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Cost Estimates: Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for flat roofing and cladding projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Material and Labor Calculation: Determine the quantity of materials and labor required for each project, considering all relevant factors such as material costs, labor rates, and project timelines.
- Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes for materials and services, ensuring the best prices and quality.
- Client Consultation: Meet with clients to discuss project requirements, provide estimates, and offer professional advice on roofing and cladding solutions.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present detailed proposals, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and project plans to clients and stakeholders.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, contracts, and other relevant documentation for each project.
- Cost Management: Monitor project costs and progress to ensure that estimates remain within budget and make adjustments as necessary.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to project execution.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating within the roofing and cladding industry, with a focus on flat roofing systems.
- Education: A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in estimates and proposals.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
